JG Thirlwell
JG Thirlwell is a composer, producer and performer based in Brooklyn, New York. Born in Melbourne, Thirlwell relocated to New York in 1983 and is known for his musical projects Foetus, Manorexia, Xordox and Steroid Maximus, among others. His varied musical style is dramatic and intense; often referred to as cinematic. Thirlwell has also featured as producer, remixer and collaborator for a wide variety of artists including Karen O, Swans, Nine Inch Nails, Lydia Lunch, The The and Nick Cave.
For Volume, JG Thirwell presents the Australian premiere of his work ‘Silver mantis’ at the Lawrence English (Room40) co-curated North and South program on 27 September.
