Sam Smith is an artist and filmmaker working with experimental documentary and speculative fiction, often dissecting the technical, geological and formal underpinnings inherent to moving-image capture and production. His films, installations and live video performances have been shown in film festivals and museums worldwide. 

For Volume, Sam Smith has worked with collaborators April Lin 林森, Ama Josephine Budge, Sonia Levy and JWPATON to create A concave space – a new commission for the Tank.
